When it comes to powerhouse performances, P!nk always brings the energy and the heart. And tonight, it was all about the heart when she took to the stage at the American Music Awards to honour Olivia Newton-John.
The superstar, who attended the event with husband Carey Hart and their kids, Willow and Jameson, performed the late actor’s song “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from the 1978 film Grease as photos of Olivia appeared on a big screen behind her. Audience members swayed their arms as they watched on, visibly moved.
The tear-inducing moment was vastly different to P!nk’s first performance of the evening, a fun and colourful rendition of her new single “Never Gonna Not Dance Again” – all done on roller-skates, of course.
Olivia passed away in August this year, aged 73. She had been living with breast cancer for many years.
