The superstar’s reps have confirmed to People and The Hollywood Reporter that yes, that was a baby bump peeking out from under her red jumpsuit during the Super Bowl half-time show.
*insert extremely loud squeals*
No statement has been shared at this stage.
This makes Rihanna the first artist to perform at the Super Bowl while pregnant! And she nailed it too. During the 13-minute set, RiRi performed some of her greatest hits including “Umbrella”, “We Found Love”, ‘Only Girl” and “Diamonds”.
During a press conference for Apple Music last week, Rihanna revealed that motherhood, and representing her home country of Barbados as well as Black women everywhere, inspired her to take on the gig:
“When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world, you could do anything. And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world. So as scary as that was because I haven’t been on stage in seven years, there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all. And it’s important for me to do this, this year. It’s important for representation, it’s important for my son to see that.”
The Grammy-winner and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky welcomed their first child in May last year.
