Sarah Jessica Parker is sharing deep words of love and gratitude for her friend and Sex and the City co-star Willie Garson who passed away this week.
The actor and father of one who brought Standfard Blatch to life on the iconic show, died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 57.
In a post on Instagram, Sarah Jessica writes how “unbearable” his loss has been:
“Sometimes silence is a statement. Of the gravity. The anguish. The magnitude of the loss of 30 + year friendship,” she begins.
“A real friendship that allowed for secrets, adventures, a shared professional family, truth, concerts, road trips, meals, late night phone calls, a mutual devotion to parenthood and all the heartaches and joy that accompany, triumphs, disappointments, fear, rage and years spent on sets (mostly Carrie’s apartment) and laughing late into the night as both Standford and Carrie, and Willie and SJ,” she continues, sharing some photos of their time together, including this one:
“Willie, I will miss everything about you. And replay our last moments together. I will re-read every text from your final days and put to pen our last calls. Your absence is a crater that I will fill with blessing of these memories and all the ones that are still in recesses yet to surface.”
In her message, she also offers her love and deepest sympathies to Willie’s son, Nathen.
“You were and are the light of Willie’s life and his greatest achievement was being your Papa.”
Sarah Jessica ends by sharing Willie’s last words to her: “Great bangles all around.”
