Saved By The Bell Cast Remember Co-Star Dustin Diamond

Saved By The Bell star Dustin Diamond has passed away from cancer.

“Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful, the actor’s spokesman, Roger Paul, said in a statement.

Dustin, who was best known for playing nerdy character Screech in the 90s sitcom, was rushed to hospital last month in Florida where it was later revealed he had stage 4 lung cancer.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of my old co-star @realdustindiamond passing,” she captioned the photo.

“Life is extremely fragile and it’s something we should never take for granted. God speed Dustin.”

Mark-Paul Gosselaar aka the cool guy Zack Morris, posted a tribute on Twitter. He writes:

“Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dustin Diamond, a true comedic genius. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Looking back at our time working together, I will miss those raw, brilliant sparks that only he was able to produce. A pie in your face, my comrade.”
