We’ve known for a few months now that Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian are expecting another baby – and today we found out they’re having another girl!
The tennis legend has shared a video on YouTube revealing the baby’s sex during an outdoor party with friends, family, and one epic light show. At the start of the clip – before anything is revealed – we see Serena declaring she’s “team pink”, while hubby, former Reddit co-founder and entrepreneur Alexis, decides to “troll” his wife by turning up with neither a pink cake nor a blue one, but rather a yellow one:
“I’m doing this because I want to troll her and Olympia into thinking that this is the reveal of Jelly Bean,” Alexis hilariously whispers to the camera, referring to their 5-year-old daughter and the bub in Serena’s tummy.
“She will cut into this cake and probably be disappointed and hopefully appreciate my troll. But we’ll see. I don’t know if she’s gonna be a professional about it. She might see this cake come out, roll her eyes and say ‘This guy had one job and he gave me a goddamn cake gender reveal!’ But…there’s a reveal after the reveal!”
And indeed, there was quite a reveal.

After cutting into the centre of the cake and seeing yellow, Serena picked up a slice, put it on a plate and moved towards Alexis, aiming to smoosh it on his face! But Alexis soon clarified the situation and explained the real reveal would still be happening “with a little style and some spectacular lights.”
The sky then lit up with a drone spelling out the word “GIRL!”. As you can imagine, everyone erupted in cheers – and tears of joy – including Serena’s sister and fellow tennis star Venus Williams, who can be seen jumping up and down in the background.
Serena announced she and Alexis were expecting again this year when she posted a photo of the two of them at the Met Gala.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.” she cheekily captioned the pic, which included her growing baby bump.
