Serena Williams is sharing some huge personal news – she’s pregnant!
The tennis superstar has announced she’s expecting a baby with her husband, Reddit founder and philanthropist Alexis Ohanian. The pair, who are already parents to 5-year-old daughter Olympia, shared their news on social media ahead of the Met Gala.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” she captioned a series of photos, showing her outfit to the prestigious event and a visible baby bump.

Serena wore a black dress with long sleeves and a white chiffon skirt, along with pearls around her neck in a nod to late designer Karl Lagerfeld who was being honoured through the theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
Alexis, who was equally dashing at the event in a black tuxedo, also shared their happy news, posting photos from the Met in his Insta stories. He captioned them, “@serenawilliams always does everything with style – including baby announcements.”
Oh his Instagram page, he adds “Mama and Papa love this parenting-thing, so we’re back at it and @olympiaohanian is gonna be the best Big Sister – she’s been asking & praying for this for a minute.”
No further details about the pregnancy have been shared at this stage.
Model Karlie Kloss also revealed a baby bump at the Met Gala, as did designer Emily Adams Bode Aujila.
Last year, Serena announced she would be “evolving away” from tennis – rather than retiring – to focus on other things, including expanding her family.
“If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labour of expanding our family,” she wrote at the time, revealing she and Alexis had already been trying for another child.
The couple has been married since 2017.
