It’s a very special day for Viola Davis and Julius Tennon!
The Hollywood couple is celebrating 20 whole years of marriage and to mark the occasion, EGOT-winning Ms Davis took to Instagram to express her gratitude and love:
“20 years of connection,” she begins, posting a carousel of photos of them through the years.
“We’ve seen the loss of family members, and held each other up. We’ve had accolades, triumphs, joy, grief, exhaustion and still I feel your grip. Through the fire and brimstone of life we have held on… together… to each other… understanding no matter what, the promise is to not let go.”
She ends her message, “To the end my love…. Happy 20th Anniversary!!!”

Viola and Julius, who recently portrayed Michael Jordan’s parents Deloris and James Jordan in the film AIR, met back in 1999 on the set of City of Angels. They tied the knot four years later, on June 23, 2003 and in February 2016, renewed their vows.
She even posted a sweet photo of the ceremony the next day on Instagram, captioning it with a quote from American novelist John Updike: “We are most alive when we are in love.”

The pair, who share almost-13-year-old daughter Genesis and also raise Julius’ two children from a previous relationship, tend to remain very private about their personal life.
When Viola achieved EGOT status (having won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony award) at the Grammys this year, she shared heartfelt words for both Julius and Genesis: “You are my life and my joy, the best chapter in my book.”
They also run a production company together, JuVee Productions – because Ju for Julius and Vee for Viola! – and are both actively involved in various philanthropic projects including advocating for nonprofits No Kid Hungry and Rise First.
