A Simple Favour is getting a sequel and original stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick will be reprising their roles!
Blake shared a screenshot of a report by The Hollywood Reporter in her Insta stories, confirming the exciting news.
According to the report, Paul Feig will return to direct the follow-up to the 2018 dark and twisted comedy-thriller, which you might remember is about a widowed ‘mommy vlogger’ named Stephanie (played by Anna) trying to figure out why and how her friend Emily (played by Blake) mysteriously vanishes. Along the way, Stephanie realises Emily isn’t exactly who she said she was…

It’s not yet clear whether any other original cast members such as Henry Golding, Linda Cardellini and Jean Smart will join the film.
This is the second major project Blake has announced in the last week. She’s also set to make her feature directorial debut with Seconds, an adaptation of the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O’Malley.
Last year, Blake directed her good pal Taylor Swift’s music video for “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version).”
Meanwhile, Anna is in talks to star in true-crime thriller The Dating Game about a woman called Cheryl Bradshaw who goes on a matchmaking show in the 70s only to be set up with serial killer Rodney Alcala. Years later, investigators would find piles of evidence against him, convicting him of murder and attempted murder and he would eventually be sentenced to the death penalty. Alcala died last year of natural causes while on death row.
