Some of Disney’s most beloved animated films are about to get more sequels!
New Toy Story, Frozen and Zootopia movies are in the works, according to Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger. He announced the news during the company’s quarterly earnings call (where he also sadly shared that Disney would be laying off 7,000 employees in a bid to cut costs).
While no release dates or details about these new films have been shared just yet, Iger suggested there may be plans for other sequels too:
“We’ll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivalled brands and franchises.”
The new projects would mean a fifth Toy Story film, a third Frozen film and and a second Zootopia.
Reacting to the news on Instagram, Josh Gad (who voices everybody’s favourite snowman, Olaf, in the Frozen films) writes: “Back into the unknown!”
