The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is set to return to our screens but this time it won’t be the family, fun comedy we grew up with.
It’ll be a dramatic reboot titled Bel-Air focusing on racism, police brutality, gang violence and other important themes.
Will Smith who played the starring role in the original, will serve as executive producer alongside Quincy Jones, Benny Medina and series creators Andy and Susan Borowitz.
According to Variety.com, the remake will be based on Morgan Cooper’s video that went viral last year, reimagining the series as a hard-hitting drama:
It’s not clear how we’ll be able to watch the movie just yet with Netflix, HBO Max and Peacock all interested in picking it up.
Either way, we know it’s definitely happening! Who else is excited to see this?
