‘It Ends With Us’: Trailer, Release Date, Cast & More!

The first trailer for It Ends With Us is finally here – and yes, it’s emotional. And chilling. And everything you’d imagine it to be.

Perfectly set to Taylor Swift’s “My Tears Ricochet”, the 2-minute clip gives us a glimpse into the highly anticipated adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s hugely popular novel, beginning with a smiling Blake Lively as Lily Bloom opening her florist with bestie Allysa. We’re quickly introduced to handsome neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid as well as Lily’s ex, Atlas Corrigan and between moments of happiness and joy, Lily is clearly overcome with sadness and pain too:

Who is cast in It Ends With Us?

Blake Lively stars as lead Lily Bloom opposite Justin Baldoni as her love interest Ryle Kincaid (who is also directing the film). Brandon Sklenar plays fellow lead Atlas Corrigan, Lily’s school friend and first love.

Jenny Slate and Hasan Minaj portray Allysa, Ryle’s sister and Marshall, Allysa’s husband and Ryle’s good friend.

And of course there’s a young Lily and young Atlas too played by Isabela Ferrer and Alex Neustaedter.

When news of the epic casting first came out, Colleen took to Instagram to share her excitement: “Cannot wait for this. Loving the cast so far. Feels like a dream.”

What is It Ends With Us about?

The book, which explores themes of domestic violence, masculinity, jealousy, heartache and more, has been a huge online sensation. In January 2022, it debuted at #1 on the New York Times’ Best Sellers list and has been a consistent point of discussion on “booktok”, aka book-lovers on TikTok.

It follows the present day story of Lily, a young entrepreneur who grew up in an abusive home and falls for a neurosurgeon named Ryle, as well as the past story of Lily’s relationship with a homeless friend named Atlas. When Atlas reappears in her life years later, Lily finds herself navigating her relationships, and her heart. Per the official synopsis, “Lily realises she must learn to rely on her own strength to make an impossible choice for her future.”

Justin Baldoni has said the team behind It Ends With Us has partnered with nonprofit NoMore.org to ensure the project is “made with purpose and the intention to educate, support and ultimately provide resources for viewers.”
