Lindsay Lohan Confirms a ‘Freaky Friday’ Sequel is Happening!

Lindsay Lohan has confirmed what every Freaky Friday fan has been hoping for – a sequel is definitely in the works!

After months (maybe even years) of speculation, Lindsay told SiriusXm’s Andy Cohen Live that rumours about her reuniting with co-star Jamie Lee Curtis for another Freaky Friday film are in fact true. But that’s about all she was willing to tell.

When asked about a potential “timeline”, Lindsay responded, “I won’t say that yet… I don’t want to say too much.” She simply added, “we’re both excited. I’m going to speak for Jamie!”

So are we, Lindsay! So. Are. We!

It was around May last year that multiple news outlets announced a Freaky Friday sequel was in development, with both Lindsay and Jamie in talks to return. But this is the first time either of them have confirmed the news.

Jamie had previously spoken to The New York Times about a potential sequel. That was in 2023, on the film’s 20th anniversary:

“As I went around the world with Halloween Ends, people wanted to know if there was going to be another Freaky Friday. Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made.'”

Lindsay, who most recently made a cameo in the new Mean Girls film starring Reneé Rapp, Angourie Rice and Avantika Vandanapu, has had a busy few years. She not only signed a multi-film deal with Netflix, starring in projects like 2022’s Falling for Christmas and Irish Wish (which is due out on March 15), but she’s also currently working on Our Little Secret, a holiday film where she’ll share the screen with Emmy and Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth.

And in addition to all her professional projects, Lindsay also moved her life to Dubai, tied the knot with local financier Bader Shammas and welcomed baby Luai.
