Matt Damon & Ben Affleck to Star Together in Crime Thriller ‘RIP’

Hollywood stars and best friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are set to appear together onscreen once again!

After kicking off their careers with Good Will Hunting back in 1998 and working on a bunch of films over the years, including the 2023 movie AIR, they’ll reunite for a crime thriller titled RIP.

According to Deadline it will be written and directed by Joe Carnahan who is behind movies like Smokin’ Aces, Boss Level and Copshop. And it will be produced by Matt and Ben’s company, Artists Equity.

No further details about the project have been shared at this stage.

The famous duo started their production company in 2022 with the aim of focusing on artists and creators’ projects “so that all can truly participate.” Artist Equity’s first film was AIR which shared the story of how Nike convinced basketball legend Michael Jordan to collab with the company, ultimately leading to the Air Jordan line.

This year, they released The Greatest Love Story Never Told, a documentary about global superstar Jennifer Lopez’s new album This is Me… Now. There are also lots more projects in the works including Unstoppable which also stars Jennifer Lopez, The Instigators which will see Matt onscreen with Ben’s brother, actor Casey Affleck, and a film adaptation of the novel Small Things Like These starring Cillian Murphy and Emma Watson.

“When Cillian and Alan Moloney brought this project to us, we instantly said we wanted to help bring it to life,” Matt and Ben said. “We couldn’t be prouder of that decision. This is simply a wonderful film, one that we think really does justice to Claire Keegan’s astounding, poignant novella.”

Small Things Like These is due to be released in November 2024.
