WATCH: ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3’ Trailer!

The official trailer for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 has dropped and it’s a Portokalos family reunion in Greece!

The two-and-a-half minute clip opens with Toula (portrayed by Nia Vardalos) explaining that a lot has happened since her wedding, which played out in the first film in the comedy franchise.

“My father passed away, and his last wish was for us to visit his childhood village and reconnect with our roots, so we’re having a reunion. And by we, I mean the whole family!”

What follows is lots of laughs, love and of course, dancing.

The trailer sees the return of cast members John Corbett, Elena Kampouris, Maria Vacratsis, Andrea Martin, Gia Carides and more. Michael Constantine, who played patriarch Costas Portokalos, sadly passed away in 2021 before filming began.

Check out all the fun and hilarity below!

Nia Vardalos announced in June, 2022 that a third instalment of the beloved film franchise was in the works, much to the delight of the internet!

“We’re filming in the beautiful Plaka of Athens,” Nia shared on Instagram at the time, adding that she’d not only be in the film, but working behind the camera too:

“Guess who the director is? It’s MEEEEEE!”

The exciting news was shared 20 years – yes friends, 20 whole years – after the fist film burst onto our screens.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is due out in cinemas September 8.
