Neve Campbell Confirms She Won’t Return For ‘Scream 6’

There’s been a lot of talk lately that Neve Campbell would not be returning as the iconic Sidney Prescott for Scream 6 – and today she’s sadly confirmed it’s true.

Speaking with DeadlineNeve explained that it was a “very difficult decision” that came down to not being paid her worth:

“As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise.” (You can read her full statement over on Deadline.)

Now that could not have been an easy decision to make. We love that she’s standing up for herself and not feeling like she has to agree to something that doesn’t sit right.

So what does this mean for the movie?

Well, it means Scream 6, which is due out in March 2023, will be the first film in the franchise to not have heroine Sidney Prescott in it.

Previously confirmed cast members include Hayden Panettiere who will return as Kirby Reed, Jenna Ortega as Tara, Melissa Barrera as Sam, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy and Mason Gooding as Chad.

This week we also learned that Dermot Mulroney has signed on to the franchise too!
