She’s here! She’s here! She’s finally here!
The highly anticipated trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film has landed, giving us our first proper look at Margot Robbie in the title role and holy moly, this is going to be gooooood!
The film also stars Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Ncuti Gatwa among many other huge names.
The first look begins with what appears to be a take on 2001: A Space Odyssey, with a voiceover who says:
“Since the beginning of time, since the first little girl ever existed, there have been… dolls. But the dolls were always and forever baby dolls until…”
At this point, we see Barbie, in a retro black-and-white swimsuit, lowering her sunnies, giving us all a little wink….
Barbie will be released in July 2023.
