Beyoncé Announces New Album: ‘Act II’

Beyoncé has announced her new album, Act II, is coming!

The GRAMMY-winning superstar teased the news during a Verizon commercial that aired on Super Bowl Sunday in the U.S., where she not only floored everyone with a surprise appearance, but also repeatedly tried to break the internet and then most likely did when she exclaimed “Okay, they ready. Drop the new music!”

And sure thing, just moments later she properly announced the news to her 319 million fans on social media, confirming her eighth studio album will be out on March 29 – and going by her clip, this album has a bit of a country vibe:

Act II is the follow-up to Beyoncé’s Renaissance album which came out in July 2022. The first two songs on the album are called “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” and are both out now.

Fans had been talking about a possible album announcement for days, especially after Verizon posted a video of Tony Hale on social media last week standing in front of what looked a lot like the sparkling horse from Renaissance.

It was followed by another post showing Tony squeezing some lemonade and saying, “She wants me to squeeze all these lemons by myself? This better work.” Lemonade was of course the title to Beyoncé’s 2016 album.

Beyoncé’s mama Tina Knowles has also confirmed the news of an exciting new album. Posting on Instagram, she writes, “I have loved this record for years, now so happy that you guys get to hear. It’s amazing.”
