“A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative. Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.”

She goes on to thank a number of people who helped her on her musical journey including Jay-Z, her parents, her Uncle Jonny who introduced her to music which inspired the album and her children:

“I want to give a special thank you to Rumi, Sir and Blue for allowing me the space, creativity and inspiration.”

In a separate Instagram post, Beyoncé thanked her fans for waiting until the album’s “proper release” after it was leaked online.
