British music legends Elton John and Ed Sheeran have revealed their new Christmas song is almost here!

The collab, titled “Merry Christmas” will be released on Friday, Dec 3 and was announced by Ed in a video posted to Twitter where he channels that iconic scene from “Love Actually” – you know the one where Andrew Lincoln’s character professes his love for Keira Knightley’s character by holding up a bunch of large note cards, without saying a word? Yeah, that one!

“Hello. Last Christmas I received a call from my mate Elton John and he told me we should do a ‘Christmas Song’,”Ed’s cards read.

“And I replied ‘Yeah. Maybe in 2022.’ But I actually wrote the chorus that day and here we are. our Christmas song ‘Merry Christmas’ is out this Friday. Go pre-order or pre-save it now. It has sleigh bells. A lot of them…”

All UK proceeds for the song will be divided between Ed’s Suffolk Music Foundation which supports youth through music and the Elton John Aids Foundation which is on a mission to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.

Ed actually shared news of the collab earlier this year when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, explaining he agreed to do it on the condition it was a “proper Christmas song” with “sleigh bells, ding-dong.”

Pretty sure we won’t be disappointed!
