Franklin Jonas Releases Debut Single ‘Cocaine’

Franklin Jonas is venturing into the music world!

The former child actor, who also happens to have some very famous brothers named Kevin, Nick and Joe, has released his debut single ‘Cocaine’, a track drawing on his past struggles with addiction.

“‘Cocaine’ is about longing for the coping mechanisms you don’t have or can’t do anymore,” Franklin shared in a press release. “It’s the point where you become nostalgic for the bad times because even the bad times had good distractions.”

The song, co-written and produced with Charlie Brand, marks Franklin’s first official music release though he did sing alongside Noah Cyrus for “Ponyo On the Cliff By the Sea” and he has been making music since college. He also studied audio engineering under John McBride whose voice features at the start of the song.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Franklin writes: “I hope you enjoy cocaine. The song and the video and the piece of myself that I give away with this project. There are so many people who worked so hard on this. I owe each of you my life. You’ve taken my sickly infant and given your time and energy to help make something beautiful. Thank you for believing in this.”

Franklin previously shared in a TikTok posted to his @frankiejonastherapist account, that he battled drug and alcohol addiction.

“Something intervened, and my life was saved. I went to treatment and it saved me. I couldn’t be more grateful for the fact that I’m alive today because my world has changed so beautifully and astronomically, and I am not that person anymore. I couldn’t be more grateful that I’m alive and happy.”

We hope more music is on the way… and maybe even a collab with his brothers?
