Jennifer Lopez Announces Film to Accompany ‘This Is Me … Now’ Album

This Is Me … Now by Jennifer Lopez is officially happening people – and yes, we now have a release date AND a film to look forward to!

Let’s start with the album, shall we?

It’s due to be released on February 16, 2024. This will be the superstar’s ninth studio album and her first in almost a decade. It comes more than 20 years after its sister album, This Is Me… Then. The 13-track list includes a song called “Dear Ben Pt. II” which is most likely a sequel to her 2002 song “Dear Ben” about her now husband, Oscar-winning actor Ben Affleck.

And while February is still an entire three months away, the good news is the album’s first single, “Can’t Get Enough”, will drop on January 10, 2024.

Her last album, A.K.A, came out in 2014. She has released a bunch of standalone singles since, collabing with the likes of Cardi B, Maluma and more. According to a press release, her new album promises to be “Lopez’s most honest and personal to date.”

As for the film, it’s described as “a narrative driven, intimate, reflective, sexy, funny, fantastical and highly entertaining  musical and visual reimagining of her publicly scrutinised love life.”

Whew! We’re hooked already!

Ben Affleck, who earned praise for his work on Air this year, is credited as a writer on Jen’s film. It will release on February 16 with the album and will be available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The announcement has come with a short trailer, opening with a letter written by Ben which reads, “Life’s tough but you’re sweet” and is dated 24 December 2002.
