Jennifer Lopez Cancels Summer Tour to Be With Family

Jennifer Lopez has cancelled her 2024 summer tour.

Representatives for Live Nation today announced that “THIS IS ME… LIVE, The Greatest Hits” tour won’t go ahead, citing that “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.”

In her email newsletter to fans, JLo wrote:

“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”

For fans who’ve already purchased their tickets, Ticketmaster will automatically provide a refund so there’s no further action to take. However if you’ve purchased via third-party resale sites such as SeatGeek, StubHub and VividSeats, you’ll have to reach out to those sites directly.

Of course, there’s a lot of dialogue around why exactly the tour has been cancelled, much of it unverified and unkind so we won’t be repeating any of it here – but it’s a good reminder that we never really know what someone is going through and that as humans, we all need the space and the grace to just be, without the weight of the internet’s judgment and opinion.

JLo initially announced the tour in February this year, coinciding with the release of her ninth studio album, This is Me….Now, as well as its two accompanying films. The album was released more than 20 years after its sister album, This is Me…Then, with a 13-track list including a song called “Dear Ben, Part II”.

And while her summer tour was initially slated to be an official This is Me… Now event, it was later changed to a tour with her greatest hits.

Besides her music, JLo is currently starring in the Netflix film Atlas alongside Simu Liu, is working on a Bob the Builder film with Anthony Ramos in the lead role and is involved philanthropically with Grameen America which supports women through micro-loans and other financing projects.
