Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado & Timbaland to Release New Song Next Week

16 years after working together on the hit track “Give It To Me”, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado and Timbaland are teaming up once again!

The trio, who sent fans into a frenzy about a potential collaboration last month when Timbaland shared a still of a video call between them on social media, have confirmed a new song is definitely coming. And we don’t have to wait too long either with the release date set for Friday, September 1.

“WE BACK👀👀👀🤯🤯🤯,” Timbaland captioned a video announcing the news on social media.  The short clip opens with the words “The Time Has Come” and goes on to share footage of JT, Nelly and Timbaland performing together and working in studio.

Interestingly, they haven’t released the title of the track yet or shared any footage of what we might expect.

Nelly, who announced in May that she would be creating new music again after a hiatus from the industry, and released her collaboration with Dom Dolla titled “Eat Your Man”, recently confirmed during an interview with Vogue that she’d been back in the studio with Timbaland.

“We have plans, for sure. I actually talked to Timbaland recently, and we had this amazing two-hour FaceTime,” she told the publication though didn’t share specific details.

Similarly, Timbaland shared in an interview with Variety that he’d been working with Justin Timberlake on a new album describing it as “fun Justin” rather than “old fogey” stuff.

“It’s like FutureSex/LoveSounds but nothing too heavy, just giving you what you’d expect from us. Not overthought, the lyrics are not so deep, it’s bob-your-head, dance-to-it music. Music is a young sport, and you have to keep it fun – fun and young. We’ve both seen a lot of life, but you have to bring out the 13-year-old, 18-year-old again, you know?”

Timbaland, JT and Nelly’s new music will be out September 1.
