Nelly Furtado Announces New Music: “Eat Your Man”

Nelly Furtado is back with new music!

The singer, who was one of the biggest stars of the early 2000s with hits “I’m Like a Bird”, “Promiscuous” and “Maneater”, has announced a collaboration with Aussie artist Dom Dolla called “Eat Your Man” – and it’s coming out next week!

“EAT YOUR MAN. June 2nd,” Nelly posted on Instagram, along with a cover photo for the single featuring a snake tearing through two hearts:

She also teased the new music on her TikTok page, sharing a snippet of what we can expect:

Nelly, who is a mother-of-three, released her last studio album, The Ride, back in 2017 and has kept a relatively low profile since. In an interview with Billboard, she shared some details about working with nonprofit Free the Children:

“We do youth engagements, community partnerships, empowerment in different places and workshops with girls — I’ve been going on a lot of trips to Kenya.”

Earlier this year, Nelly took to the stage at the Beyond the Valley Festival in Australia, marking her return to the industry. And then again this week, she appeared on the cover of Fault Magazine:

“I ripped another Band-Aid off! First photoshoot in 6 years?! Thanks @FAULTMagazine, Happy to be your cover woman,” Furtado tweeted, sharing the stunning cover with fans. It features the superstar in a black and see-through body suit, crouched down, wearing platform shoes.

She tells the publication she’s been working on an album and we can expect more exciting collaborations including one with Colombian band Bomba Estéreo:

“I met Liliana from Bomba Estéreo on a trip to Colombia. We were sent to the jungle, meditated, went into the studio, and formed a friendship with another one of my artist friends. We’re all really good friends, all mothers, and I’ve relied quite heavily on those female friendships these last couple of years. Our roles as mothers are important, but our roles as artists are important too.”
