Rihanna has officially confirmed the news – she’s releasing new music for the first time in 6 years!
‘Lift Me Up’ will appear on the soundtrack to the new Marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. According to a press release, the song was co-written by RiRi and Nigerian singer Tems “as a tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman” who starred in the first Black Panther film and sadly passed away from cancer in 2020.
Sharing a teaser on Instagram, Rihanna announced she’ll be dropping the song on October 28…which is *checks notes* only one sleep away!

Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the superstar since 2016 when she released her album Anti. Over the past few years, she’s been busy building her Fenty beauty and Savage X Fenty lingerie empires as well as supporting environmental causes through her Clara and Lionel Foundation.
