Ryan Gosling is officially a Billboard Hot 100 artist!
His memorable – and rather hilarious song – “I’m Just Ken” from the Barbie film has debuted at no. 87 on the well-known U.S. charts, marking the 42-year-old actor’s first appearance on the list.
The Barbie soundtrack itself which features music from Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish and more, debuted at no.2 on the Billboard 200 album charts.
“I’m Just Ken” which is produced by Mark Ronson, isn’t Ryan’s only song in the film. He also performs a cover of Matchbox Twenty’s “Push” with the other Kens including his frenemy, portrayed brilliantly by Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu.

And while this is Ryan’s first time on the Hot 100, it isn’t the first time he’s charted though. According to Billboard, back in 2016 his song “City of Stars” from the film La La Land, made it to No. 1 on the Jazz Digital Song Sales Charts!
And of course, we’ve all seen the viral footage of Ryan performing on stage as a tween for the Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse Club. (If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re going to need to stop what you’re doing right now and watch it here. YOU’RE WELCOME.)
So perhaps this was always meant to be?
The Barbie cast recently shared just how much they all adore Ryan in footage shared by Warner Bros. with CelebrityKind. Star Margot Robbie described the actor as not only the perfect Ken but also the perfect human:
“I’m yet to find out what’s not perfect about Ryan…Normally, you go through this process, you get to know people and you see them at their, you know, under pressure, under stress and when they’re tired and all those kinds of stuff. Sometimes, that’s when you really get to see another side to the person. And I’m literally yet to see a bad side of Ryan.”
