Wayne Brady Calls for End to “Senseless and Terrible Gun Violence” During AMAs

American Music Awards host Wayne Brady is honouring those who’ve lost their lives to gun violence.

Taking a moment during the epic show featuring P!nk, Taylor Swift and more, he not only paid tribute to late Migos member Takeoff but also the victims of a shooting at LGBTQ+ nightclub, Club Q in Colorado Springs last night.

“We recently just lost Kirsnick Khari Ball, better known as Takeoff, one third of the ground-breaking hip-hop group Migos. On behalf of all of us that love hip-hop and music around the world, we thank you Takeoff for your artistry and tonight we honour your memory.”

The 28-year-old musician was killed during a shooting at a bowling alley earlier this month.

Wayne continues, “Guys, we have to stop this senseless and terrible gun violence. Just yesterday there was a mass shooting in Colorado Springs and our heart go out to all the victims’ families.”

At least five people lost their lives in the shooting and at least 25 people were injured when a gunman opened fire on the club on Saturday, November 19.
