Paris Hilton has received an apology from the artist who photoshopped a tank top she wore in the early 00s to read “Stop Being Poor.”
The socialite and entrepreneur made a TikTok this week pointing out that she never wore the top despite being ridiculed about it for many years and explained on a recent episode of her podcast that the photoshopped pic “really bothered” her.
“I definitely had a moment of insecurity where I didn’t want people to think I would wear that shirt,” she said.
“I would never want to offend anyone and telling people to stop being poor is just the opposite of my personality,” she continues.
“It’s turned into this whole thing where my persona is attached to it and people think that I would speak like that. And I’m just not the person that would think like that, speak like that. It’s something that has been annoying for a long time.”
The T-shirt did cause an uproar at the time and is still circulated online twenty years later!

But this week, Jubilee, the artist who was behind the photoshopping, reached out to Paris on Twitter and said she was sorry for causing “any grief.”
She also appeared on Paris’ podcast, This Is Paris, saying she “felt really bad” and “never meant any ill will or anything like that.”
She adds, “I’m sorry it caused you stress cause you thought it was the paparazzi…it was just some dumb kid with photoshop!”
Fortunately, Paris says she can look back at it all now and “laugh at it!”
