Paris Hilton is addressing that moment from the early 00s where she was pictured wearing a “Stop Being Poor” tank.
As you can imagine, she was absolutely annihilated for it at the time and even years later, the image is still being circulated online. Except, she never actually wore the shirt. It never even existed in the first place.
According to the influencer and entrepreneur, it was photoshopped by an animator.
“So, there’s this photo online of me, I’m sure you’ve seen it,” she says in a TikTok.
“I never wore that shirt. This is completely photoshopped. Everyone thinks it’s real, but that’s not the truth.”
She then shows her followers an un-edited photo of her from the same night. The T-shirt reads, “Stop Being Desperate.”

As it turns out, the design was actually from sister Nicky Hilton’s 2005 fashion line “Chick”.
“Glad to finally clear this one up for the haters,” she posted in a follow-up tweet.
Paris has really been reclaiming her own narrative over the last year and we think it’s awesome.
In September 2020, she released the documentary This Is Paris where she opened up about the abuse she suffered as a teenager at a care facility. Since then, she’s helped draw attention to a bill in the Utah senate (which is now law) and gives better protections to children who are sent to similar facilities and she vows to keep on using her platform for good.
Now, that’s hot.
