The Iconic “Home Alone” Mansion Will Soon Be Available to Rent on Airbnb

For the first time ever, the iconic Home Alone mansion – yep, the one Kevin McCallister was left in while his family went to Paris – will be available to rent on Airbnb!

It looks like this, in case you need a little refresher:

In honour of the film’s reboot, Home Sweet Home Alone, now streaming on Disney+, the house in Winnetka, Cook County, Illinois is up for grabs for one night only during the holiday season.

According to Airbnb, you’ll have a very special host too – Kevin’s older brother, Buzz McCallister!

“You may not remember me as particularly accomodating but I’ve grown up and I’d be happy to share my family home – my pizza – even, with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time,” Buzz, played by actor Devin Ratrayin in the original movie, says in a statement.

“We’re playing by my little bro’s rules, so feel free to eat junk food, watch rubbish on TV, borrow my dad’s aftershave and choose your own adventure with a legendary battle plan as a guide. Just stay out of my room, okay?” a message on the Airbnb page reads.

And while the lucky guests will get to “let their inner eight-year-olds run free” and enjoy a screening of the new Home Alone movie, Airbnb will make a donation to support a local charity:

“‘Tis the season of giving, so in honour of the first-ever stay at the McCallister home, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to Chicago’s La Rabida Children’s Hospital, which is dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life for each of its patients with complex conditions, disabilities, and chronic illness.”

Up to four guests will be allowed to stay in the house on December 12, and it will cost just US$25! Bookings open December 7 at 1pm CT (Dec 8 at 6am AEDT). More info HERE.
