Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge is celebrating her 40th trip around the sun and to mark the special occasion, Kensington Palace has released three new portraits of her.
Wait a minute, let’s do that again. Three new stunning portraits! (Check them out below.)
According to the Palace, the pics were taken by photographer Paolo Roversi in November at Kew Gardens. The Duchess is dressed in Alexander McQueen and wears earrings from the late Princess Diana’s collection.
The photos will become part of the Collection of the National Portrait Gallery, which is set to re-open in 2023.
The photos will be part of the gallery’s “Coming Home” project which will see the portraits of well-known figures displayed in locations they’re closely associated with.
In a message posted on the Duke and Duchess’ Instagram account, it’s revealed that Catherine’s portraits will be placed in Berkshire in South England, St Andrews in Scotland and Anglesey, an island off the coast of Wales which are all “meaningful places” to her.
As for a big birthday bash to mark the occasion? Well, no word on that just yet!
