Pamela Anderson Shares Her Daily Affirmations

When it comes to finding success, personal growth and connection in life, daily affirmations can play an important role – and they certainly do for Pamela Anderson.

The actor, model, author and environmental advocate has taken to Threads (Instagram’s newest social media platform), to share the words she tells herself everyday to live life to the fullest:

“I have rotating affirmation ‘post-its’ stuck to my bathroom magnifying mirror,” she begins. “I read them while I brush my teeth.”

Pamela goes on to share exactly what her rotating affirmations are:

“I add value to the world. I am beautiful. I am worthy of love. I am unique. I forgive myself. I am free.”

She ends her post, “words are powerful” – and she couldn’t be more right.

According to a 2015 study by the University of Pennsylvania, self-affirmations activate brain systems that can impact people’s views of themselves and ultimately their behaviours and actions.

We are all guilty of self-sabotage through negative thoughts and worries. And we are all guilty of second-guessing our true selves. But affirmations can serve as helpful tools to empower and uplift, both ourselves and others who might admire us.

They help transform thoughts and mindsets, emotions and actions, and foster the determination and confidence to overcome challenges or shake off negativity. Affirmations acknowledge where we’re at, whether it’s a good or bad place, or somewhere in between. They help us see difficult situations for what they are and survive them through resilience and self-worth.

Of course, it’s important to point out that they’re no quick-fix. Affirmations require consistency, dedication and time.

Pamela isn’t the only celebrity who uses them either…

Media icon Oprah Winfrey regularly shares how affirmations of gratitude help transform her own life. In a piece for oprah.com, she writes: “I know for sure that appreciating whatever shows up for you in life changes your personal vibration. You radiate and generate more goodness for yourself when you ‘re aware of all you have and not focusing on your have-nots.”

In 2020, superstar Alicia Keys shared in a blogpost on her website how she’s spent so many years of her life hiding and making herself smaller. Her affirmations have since given herself permission to exist, just as she is: “You are allowed to be smart. You are allowed to be beautiful. You are allowed to be radical and have strong thoughts that others might not agree with. You are allowed to be tough. You are allowed to be sexy. You are allowed to be bold. You are allowed to be shapely. You are allowed to be kind. You are allowed to be yourself.”

Model Ashley Graham says her affirmations involve the 3 Bs: “I am bold, I am brilliant. I am beautiful.”

And superstar Jennifer Lopez is all about knowing she is enough. When speaking with Oprah at the Vision Tour Visionaries, she said, “I have so many affirmations that I do. Your thoughts create your life, so you have to think positive thoughts.”
