Martha isn’t just one of the world’s favourite lifestyle entrepreneurs…. Did you know that at 81-years-old, she also became a Sports Illustrated model? Yep, she even made a little history along the way as the oldest person to ever feature in the magazine.
On Instagram, Martha said she was “thrilled” to be part of the shoot, alongside Megan Fox, Kim Petras and Brooks Nader, and hoped it might encourage us all to be a little fearless too:
“My motto has always been. ‘when you’re through changing, you’re through’ so I thought, why not be up for this opportunity of a lifetime? I hope this cover inspires you to challenge yourself to try new things, no matter what stage of life you are in. Changing, evolving, and being fearless – those are all very good things, indeed.”
Martha, who rose to fame in the 80s for her cookbooks, went on to launch her own TV shows, magazine, podcast and more and has been a beloved figure in the lifestyle industry ever since. In 2000, Forbes estimated her net worth to be at $1 billion after she took her company Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia public, making her the first self-made female billionaire in the United States. Though her billionaire status has dropped, she remains one of the top-earning women in media.
