Unfortunately, the official release hasn’t given us any further details about the second season, so we’ll just have to wait a little longer to find out!
The first season of the hugely popular post-apocalyptic drama series – based on the PlayStation game of the same name – follows the story of Joel (portrayed by Pedro), who is hired to smuggle 14-year-old girl Ellie (portrayed by Bella), out of a quarantine zone. The journey is brutal and both Joel and Ellie have to depend on each other to survive.
It has already won several awards, including Outstanding Guest Actor and Actress in a Drama Series for Nick Offerman and Storm Reid at the recent Creative Arts Emmys.
It’s also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards which will take place January 15, 2024 – and if the series wins, it’ll be the first live-action video game adaptation to do so! Both Bella and Pedro are also up for lead acting awards.
