A release date has finally been set for the new Mr. & Mrs. Smith series!
Prime Video has announced all eight episodes will be available from February 2, 2024.
The highly-anticipated series which reimagines the 2005 film with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, stars Donald Glover as John Smith and Maya Erskine as Jane Smith.
What will Mr. & Mrs. Smith be about?
According to the streaming service, this version of Mr. & Mrs. Smith follows the story of two strangers who “land jobs working for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, world travels, and a dream brownstone in Manhattan. The catch? New identities in an arranged marriage as Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Smith.”
The official synopsis continues, “Now hitched, John and Jane navigate a high-risk mission every week while also facing a new relationship milestone. Their complex cover story becomes even more complicated when they catch real feelings for each other. What’s riskier, espionage or marriage?”

In an interview with EW this year, Donald said the series will be very different to the film which centred on a married couple who later discover they’re both spies working for rival agencies.
“You can always go back and watch the old one, but this one gives you a different feeling. People are definitely going to be shocked.”
Maya hilariously added she was surprised to be taking on a role made famous by Angelina Jolie: “A lot of people would say that I’m just like Angelina Jolie and that we’re really similar. No, I’m kidding. I obviously couldn’t be further from her. I tend to play characters that feel like rejects of society, and my Jane felt like it was the reject version of Angelina Jolie. It wouldn’t ever be her. It could never be.”
Who else is starring in Mr. & Mrs. Smith?
In addition to leads Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, the series includes Michaele Coel, Paul Dano and John Turturro though their roles are yet to be disclosed.
