Mike White hopes The White Lotus will make its way to every continent – including Australia – and you know we’re here for it!
The creator of the hugely successful series appeared at a press conference in Sydney this week alongside the show’s star, Jennifer Coolidge.
“My dream would be to hit every continent,” he shared (as per Variety Australia).
“This is like, it’s own continent, basically. We kind of have to come to Australia if we keep going. It would be so fun. Obviously there’s a huge wealth of talent here and the beauty is inarguable, so, yeah, it feels like it checks all the boxes.”
He added, “We could bring Murray Bartlett back,” the actor who portrayed resort manager Armond in Season 1.
Jennifer backed the idea too, saying, “Australia gets my vote!”

The first season, which also starred Sydney Sweeney, Connie Briton and Alexandra Daddario, was set in Hawaii, while the second, starring Aubrey Plaza, Meghann Fahy and Theo James, was set in Sicily. The third season, which is yet to name its cast, is currently being filmed in Thailand though an exact location hasn’t been revealed just yet.
In an HBO featurette which aired following the Season 2 finale, Mike described what we might expect in the upcoming third season:
“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex, and I think the third season would be maybe a kind of satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality and it feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.
