The Sharma family has arrived in the Ton, dear readers and we couldn’t be more excited!
Netflix is giving us a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming season of Bridgerton, with new photos from set.
One of them (shared above) features the three Sharma women: Kate (played by Simone Ashley), her younger sister Edwina (played by Charithra Chandran) and their mother Mary (played by Shelley Conn) who arrive at the ball with Lady Danbury (played by Adjoa Andoh).
During a recent extended panel featuring the newcomers, actress Charithra Chandran opened up about what it means to be taking part in the series:
“I never really thought it would happen. My mum and I, we love Jane Austen novels …and I never ever imagined that someone who looked like me would be in those outfits in a show like that.”
The other photos shared by Netflix show Kate face to face with Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey) in a garden outside the ball as well as one from inside featuring Lady Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), Anthony and Bennedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson) and Eloise (played by Claudia Jessie).

This second season is based on the second book from Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, “The Viscount Who Loved Me”, and follows Anthony Bridgerton’s love journey, which is partly why the much loved Regé-Jean Page won’t be returning as the Duke of Hastings.
Executive produced by Chris Van Dusen, Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, the series, which has been praised for its diverse cast, has already been renewed for a third and fourth season. And there’s a Young Queen Charlotte spinoff in the works too.
