Just weeks after releasing her first children’s book, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex has another project in the works!
This time, she’s teamed up with a number of filmmakers including David Furnish, to create an animated series for Netflix.
According to Archewell, the foundation she and Prince Harry started, the series is tentatively titled “Pearl” and it’s about a 12-year-old girl who is inspired by various influential women throughout history. (I mean, really, we love it already, don’t we?)

“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges,” Meghan says in a statement shared on the Archewell site.
“I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history.”
David Furnish who was behind Rocketman (and is also Elton John’s husband) shared a statement on his Instagram saying he’s delighted to be working on this:
“Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex and I are deeply passionate about bringing the inspirational and positive stories of extraordinary women from around the world to a global audience of all ages. The team collaborating on the series are first class, and @netflix are the perfect partner.”

There’s no word yet on which extraordinary women we’ll be seeing in cartoon form or when the series will be out.
It’s the second TV project announced by the Archewell team and Netflix. Last year, we learned that Prince Harry was working on a documentary series about the Invictus Games, to reveal the stories of wounded or injured service personnel.
