Ed Sheeran is Collabing With Ted Lasso!

How’s this for a match made in heaven?

Hit-maker Ed Sheeran has confirmed he’s writing a new song for the next season of Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso!

He announced the news while making an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show in the UK, alongside Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham.

“I’m obsessed with it (the show),” Ed said, via videolink – He’s currently in isolation at his home in the UK after coming down with COVID.

“It’s one of these shows where I’m constantly recommending it to people and they’re watching it instantly. I just think it’s great.”

“I got asked to do a song for the next season,” he said before Hannah interrupted him, “Do it! You’ve said it here – you have to now!”

“No I am!” Ed laughed in response. “You don’t have to convince me!”

Ed also revealed he can write a hit song in an hour, which is about the same amount of time it takes for me to decide what to have for dinner, but whatevs, it’s not a competition.

“I actually think the hits are the ones that are written very, very quickly .. so Shape Of You was definitely under an hour,” he said.

“Perfect was probably under an hour .. I remember .. all of them being so quick because I remember barely thinking, just typing [it] down.”

It’s not known if our fave red-head will make a cameo appearance on the series, which is breaking all kinds of streaming records. The weekend season two dropped saw Apple TV+ boost its viewer numbers by fifty per cent, week-on-week!
