Jane The Virgin and Yes Day actress Jenna Ortega has scored the lead role in a new Netflix show all about Wednesday Addams.
The eight-episode series (which is called Wednesday...and was announced on Wednesday…) will be a live-action, coming-of-age, comedic take on the life of the Addams Family’s goth daughter, directed by Tim Burton.

It’ll follow Wednesday’s time at Nevermore Academy where she tries to figure out her psychic abilities, stop a killing spree and solve some supernatural mysteries. You know, usual school stuff.
In a post on Instagram, Jenna shared her exciting news with her 6.2 million fans:
“New chapter,” she writes holding up a script that reads “WEDNESDAY” in bold letters.
“Hope I can do Wednesday Addams justice. *snaps twice*”
