It’s true – Dr Addison Forbes Montgomery is officially returning to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital!
Actress Kate Walsh has announced the exciting news in a video posted to the Grey’s Anatomy Insta page, saying it “feels so good to be home again.”
She joins executive producer Shonda Rhimes, star and producer Ellen Pompeo and the rest of the Season 18 cast.
“Just wait until you see what she’s got in store for you!” she laughs.

Kate first appeared on the show in Season 1, as the wife of Patrick Dempsey’s character, Derek Shepherd and became a series regular before joining the Grey’s spinoff, Private Practice.
She’s continued to make occasional guest appearances on the long-running medical drama – because who else is Chief Bailey supposed to call when she needs a world-class neonatal surgeon?
