Nicole Kidman Says ‘Big Little Lies’ Season 3 is Coming!

A third season of Big Little Lies is coming – according to star and executive producer Nicole Kidman, that is!

The Hollywood actor very casually announced the news during a Q&A session at a recent Ladies Professional Golf Association event in Florida (yes, Nic loves her golf!). In footage shared from the event online, Nicole responded to a question about her favourite characters to play onscreen, where she mentioned her Big Little Lies character, Celeste:

“I loved Big Little Lies because it sort of came along at a time in my life when I had my children and I was thinking that I was going to retire, and then this situation came along where Reese Witherspoon and I produced that show and created that show and then all of you watched it and made it a massive success.”

She then added, “And we’ll be bringing you a third one, FYI.”

Yep, just dropped it in there like it’s no big deal while the rest of us are going wild…

Nicole didn’t share any other details and nothing further has been released by HBO or Hello Sunshine who were behind the first two seasons.

The series, based on the book of the same name by Liane Moriarty, follows the story of Madeline, Jane, Bonnie, Renata and Celeste, a group of school mums who become known as the Monterey Five. When Celeste’s husband Perry falls down a set of stairs at a school trivia night fundraiser, they are the only ones to witness his murder and ultimately become part of the investigation.

In addition to Nicole, the series features an epic cast of women including Shailene Woodley, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz and Meryl Streep.

The first season scored a whopping 8 Emmy Awards out of 16 nominations. (Season 2 didn’t receive any nominations but that had to do with the timing of its release and the eligibility period for the awards.)

Who else is excited for a third season?
