Shonda Rhimes Reveals Which Grey’s Character She’d Love to Bring Back

Shonda Rhimes has revealed the Grey’s Anatomy character she’d bring back to the show if she could!

To the surprise of many of her fans, the accomplished screenwriter and creator who shared a video of her answering questions in her Instagram stories, did not choose Dr Cristina Yang. The popular, confident and hilarious character (played superbly by Sandra Oh) left the show back in season 10 to pursue her specialty work overseas and fans have been longing for her return ever since!

And with lines like this, who could blame them?

But Shonda had a different character from the past in mind – George O’Malley!

“If I could bring back any Grey’s character, it would be George. I love George so much and I miss George so much and he was such an awesome character and he was super funny and adorable and amazing. George!”

George, who was played by actor T.R Knight, died in the Season 5 finale when he was hit by a bus. The popular TV show is now up to Season 19 with star, Ellen Pompeo who portrays Dr Meredith Grey, leaving in February.

“I am eternally grateful and humbled by the love and support you have all shown me, Meredith Grey and the show for 19 seasons!” she posted on Instagram when the news was announced.

“Through it all… none of it… would have been possible without the best fans in the world. You all are RIDERS and you all have made the ride so fun and ICONIC!!”
