As we eagerly await the third season of Bridgerton to finish filming, hit our screens and transport us into Penelope and Colin’s world (or #Polin as they’re endearingly called online), Shondaland is getting us equally excited about its highly anticipated series spin-off!

“This is the year you find friends who fix your crown,” Shondaland captioned the image.
The prequel was announced at the streaming service’s Tudum event in September last year, much to the delight of Bridgerton fans around the world. The 8-episode series, starring India Amarteifio in the title role, will focus on a young Queen Charlotte’s rise to power – and of course, there’s no young Queen Charlotte without a young Lady Danbury, so we’ll also follow their friendship.
Adjoah Andoh portrays Lady Danbury in the original Bridgerton series while Golda Rosheuvel portrays Queen Charlotte – both women divine in their roles and core characters who shape the intricacies of social standing in the ‘Ton.
The Queen Charlotte spin-off will be released sometime in 2023.
