Stanley Tucci is heading back to Italy with a new docuseries on National Geographic!
Called Tucci – The Heart of Italy, the 10-part series will follow the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor across the country where he’ll explore the distinct flavours of regions including Sicily, Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, Marche and Lazio.
“National Geographic is all about adventure and exploration, and I am honoured to take viewers once again to explore Italy through the lens of food,” Tucci says.
“In Italy’s many distinct regions there is always something new to discover and I’m more than excited to begin the process in partnership with BBC Studios.”
The series will see Tucci meet both professional chefs and amateur cooks, farmers and fishermen, winemakers, brewers and, of course, other people who just love food!

“In each episode, Tucci ventures off the beaten track to meet fascinating people from all walks of life who will share their stories and the extraordinary dishes that make Italian food the world’s most loved cuisine,” a release from Nat Geo reads.
The news comes after Tucci’s previous show, the hugely popular Searching for Italy, was pulled by CNN due to cost cuts.
“National Geographic is the perfect home for Stanley to share his knowledge and passion for Italy’s people, food and culture,” the company’s Tom McDonald says.
“Our programming is all about inspiring a deeper connection to the world. With Stanley as their guide, audiences will be transported to places and to flavours they’ve never experienced before.”
Production will begin January, 2024. No release dates have been set just yet.
