We recently heard that Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry were teaming up for a powerful mental health series, called The Me You Can’t See. Now, their first official trailer has been released and let me tell you friends… This. Looks. Good.
“All over the world people are in some kind of mental, psychological, emotional pain,” Oprah says in the opening of the clip.
“What words have you heard around mental health? Crazy?” Prince Harry asks.
We’re then introduced to the people taking part in the five-part series including Hollywood star Glenn Close, singer Lady Gaga, basketball star DeMar DeRozan and poet Hussain Manawar.
Interestingly, they’re all introduced by their first names only which highlights their humanity and the universality of mental health because yeah, this stuff doesn’t discriminate. It affects us all, no matter who we are or what we do for a living.
At one point we hear Prince Harry say “to make that decision to seek help is not a sign of weakness. In this world, more than ever, it is a sign of strength.” And it is this very idea they’ll be exploring through the series.
The Me You Can’t See is due out on May 21 through Apple TV+.
