Warning: Spoilers Ahead!
After seven weeks of passionately debating who died at The White Lotus, we now have an answer and what a completely shocking one it is!
The dead body which mysteriously washed ashore at the resort’s Sicily location, found by Daphne (played by Meghann Fahy) belongs to everybody’s favourite character, heiress Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) after escaping what played out to be a hit on her life. *Insert dramatic gasp!*

The finale opens with quite the setup – among the notable moments, Albie (Adam DiMarco) makes a promise to Lucia (Simona Tabasco) to rescue her from a fake threat, Ethan (Will Sharpe) is haunted by images of Harper (Aubrey Plaza) and Cameron (Theo James) going for it and Portia (Haley Lu Richardson) wakes up to find her phone missing.
While she’s out on the town with Jack (Leo Woodall), she takes his phone when he’s in the bathroom to warn Tanya about Quentin (Tom Hollander). Meanwhile Daphne is chatting to a frazzled Ethan back at the White Lotus about the messiness of love, urging him to “use your imagination” and, umm, maybe that he does?
And Tanya, fan-favourite Tanya, who we all thought would bring her wealth, instability and sartorial splendour to Season 3? Well, she’s stuck on a boat with who she has pieced together by now to be some pretty awful people. After finding rope, duct tape and a gun inside Niccolo’s bag (portrayed by Stefano Gianino) she shoots him and begins firing wildly, killing Quentin and Didier (Bruno Gouery) too.
And while we’re all thinking, okay, she’s getting out of this… she doesn’t! Tanya whacks her head on a dinghy and drowns. How is that for unexpected?
Just like with Season 1, the Season 2 finale ends at the airport with the surviving guests all flying out.
And now we can’t help but wonder, who will reappear in Season 3? And how must we continue without our weekly dose of Jennifer Coolidge?
