Janet Jackson has shared the first teaser for the highly-anticipated documentary about her life.
Called JANET, the two-part, four-hour event celebrates 40 years since the release of the music icon’s first album, covering all the highs and lows in between – and promises to be her story, in her own words.
“This is my story, told by me. Not through someone else’s eyes,” she says in the teaser which also features Missy Elliot, Mariah Carey and Paula Abdul.
The short clip shows footage of her as a child as well as some never-before-seen home videos.
The project was greenlit earlier this year by the Lifetime and A&E networks who said it would be an “intimate, honest and unfiltered” look at the superstar’s life including her 2004 Superbowl performance with Justin Timberlake, the death of her brother Michael and her experience of becoming a mum.
JANET is due to air in early 2022. Until then, enjoy the teaser below:
