Girls’ education advocate, Nobel Prize laureate and Taliban shooting survivor Malala Yousafzai is on TikTok!
The 23-year-old has posted her first video through her foundation “@malalafund” and while there’s no dancing involved, Malala does use the opportunity to tell her incredible life story, in less than 60 seconds.
“I was 11 years old when I started speaking out for girls’ education,” she captions a series of images taken before she was shot.

“Fast forward 12 years and it’s been an incredible journey… Won some awards, gave some speeches, made a few friends,” she writes sharing photos of herself with prominent women including Michelle Obama, Greta Thunberg, Mindy Kaling and Lily Singh.
“But the best part? Starting Malala Fund and meeting girls from around the world who are fighting the same fight as me.”
According to the foundation, the TikTok account will be used to “help amplify girls’ voices so we can all learn from each other’s stories.”
Malala ends the video by encouraging her followers to share their life stories too. Check out the full – and awesome – video below:
