Liam Payne has revealed he’s recovering from a kidney infection.
The singer and former member of One Direction has taken to social media to let fans know he was recently hospitalised and would be postponing his upcoming tour of South America.
“Hey guys, this really is the last news I want to be telling you but basically I’ve been a little bit unwell recently and I ended up in the hospital with a bad kidney infection,” Liam says in a clip on Instagram.
“We’ve started rehearsals and I’ve just been advised that now’s really not the right time to be out on the road trying to recover from this. The best people around me are trying to help me recover as we speak but yeah, we’re going to have to reschedule it all.”
The tour was due to kick off on September 1 in Peru, Lima. He’s told fans their tickets will be refunded.
“Hopefully we’ll put on a bigger and better show. Thank you, I’m sorry.”

He didn’t share any further details about his hospitalisation or his current condition. However last month, we did learn that he’d spent 100 days in a rehab facility in Louisiana and was nearly six months sober.
“I just needed to take a little bit of time out for myself actually, because I kind of became somebody who I didn’t really recognise anymore,” he shared in a YouTube video in July. “And I’m sure you guys didn’t either. I was in bad shape up until that point and I was really happy to kind of put a stopper to life and work.”
